About Maria

Maria Bovor is an English artist born 1985 in Slough, UK. She was raised in Worcestershire and attended University College Falmouth, Cornwall (UK), where she received a BA(Hons) Illustration in 2008. After a stint in illustration, she decided to go on an adventure and studied in the US at William Paterson University New Jersey for 4 years, where she earned a Masters in Fine Art, specialising in painting. This journey led her to discover a passion for painting expressively and abstractly, and she hasn’t been able to let it go.

Maria currently resides in in her home town of Evesham, in Worcestershire, UK; Where she is focusing on exploration of her art. Her painting draws from our emotional connection to the landscape and the atmosphere, and the memories and experiences our environment gives us. She is especially interested in creating fictional spaces where the viewer recognises a familiarity but also holds something entirely new for them. They are pieces of memories, dreams, and experiences not yet had.
